Top rugby stars coming to Milton in 2016

Rugby league fans from Milton have the chance to see some of the country’s top Indigenous players early next year, with the 2016 All Stars game taking place at Suncorp Stadium.

The event, which celebrates cultural diversity within rugby league, will have a new format in 2016, meaning fans will also have the chance to see top league players from Australia, New Zealand and England.

NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said the changes would breathe new life into the event, which has been running since 2010, and would offer fans a chance to see some of the world’s best players in action.

The World All-Stars team will feature the current Australia, New Zealand and England team captains as well as members of the other Australian NRL teams and players from Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea.

The world team players will all be celebrating their own heritage alongside the Indigenous players who will be marking their cultural background.

Supporters have the chance to vote online for their chosen member of the Indigenous All-Stars team before the match, and could use banner printing to support their favourite player during the game.

Tickets for the match will start at $10 to allow as many people as possible to be able to attend the game. It takes place on Saturday, February 13, and tickets are on sale now.
