Queensland Reds hoping for successful season

Rugby fans from Milton have their first chance to see the Queensland Reds at home next month.

The new look Reds will take on the Western Force at Suncorp Stadium in Milton for their first home match, which takes place in Round 2 of this year’s competition.

The Reds will be hoping to improve on last year’s showing which saw them finish 13th in the table, winning just four matches from the 16 that they played.

The 2016 squad includes new signing Ayumu Goromaru from Japan. Goromaru shot to fame during the Rugby World Cup after leading his country to an upset win against South Africa in pool play. The team will be captained by prop James Slipper and is a mix of new signings and long-term members including the Fainga’a brothers.

Fans could use banner printing to show their support for the new signing.

The Reds season kicks off on Saturday February 27th with an away match against the Waratahs. Following another away games in the third round the Reds will return to Suncorp for a run of three home matches later in March and April before traveling to South Africa

The Western Force match takes place on Saturday March 8th and kicks off a 6.40pm. Tickets for the match and season memberships, which include tickets to all home games, are on sale now.
