The City’s trolley-bus depot also operated in the area between 1951 and 1969 with the site later a part of the redevelopment of Suncorp Stadium.

Early tennis fans enjoyed major tennis tournaments held at the Milton Courts until the 1990s and the suburb is also home to the Castlemaine Perkins brewery.
