Believed by many to be one of the finest acoustic guitarists in the world, Wollongong-born Michael Fix began performing at twelve. Moving to Sydney in his twenties, he was discovered and mentored by renowned Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel.
His music compositions are recognised all over the world as he has written for many documentaries and television shows. Fix has toured and played with many artists, as well as great guitarists. He also hosts workshops as he believes that a love of and talent for music is a gift to be shared and nurtured. His skill with the guitar has also led to sponsorships with companies such as GuitarPro software and Maton Guitars, and appearances at events such as the Brisbane Vintage Guitar Show.
Describing his role as a leading performer, with an eclectic style, Tony Hillier of Rhythms magazine has said of Fix:
“If awards were handed out for consistency and excellence, Michael Fix’s trophy room would be overflowing with ARIA gongs for best instrumental albums.”
Flying printing is one of the ways in which musical events can be advertised within the local community.
Michael Fix is appearing on Saturday 24th May at 7pm at the Brisbane Vintage Guitar Show at the Polish Club in Milton.
