Milton residents to learn to longboard
Residents of Milton have the opportunity to attend a free longboarding workshop during the school holidays – perfect for kids and older teenagers alike.
The workshop will be held in Frew Park, which has plenty of space for learning the basics of the sport, including how to balance, push, turn and brake safely.
Qualified coaches will be running the workshop and all equipment will be provided for the duration of the workshop, making this a perfect way to trial the sport.
A longboard is a type of skateboard, but they are easier to master for most riders as they are more stable and, compared to skateboards, have more traction due to a larger wheel size.
The workshops will be held by the Longboard Family, a not for profit organisation that concentrates on introducing people to longboarding and assisting members of the skateboarding family to reach their full potential.
Workshop organisers will often use printed materials, such as poster printing and flyer printing, to advertise upcoming events and workshops like this.
The workshop is suitable for those aged 10 to 17, and it will be held on Monday, January 4 from 8.30am to 10.00am. Bookings are required if you would like to attend the workshop as numbers are limited. For more information and to book, see the Brisbane City Council website. Frew Park is located at 315 Milton Road, Milton.
