Milton playhouse to present film-inspired show

A musical based on a darkly comic from the 1980s will be performed live on stage at the home of the arts in Milton.

The Milton Theatre has announced that it will be welcoming the hit show, “Heathers - The Musical” this spring. Based on the cult classic ‘Heathers’, written by Daniel Waters and released in 1989, the show features lyrics and music from Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe. The poster for the show depicts “The Heathers” a conniving clique of beautiful but cruel girls at Westerberg High School.

Creators of stage shows often work closely with experienced poster printing services to create eye-catching adverts featuring strong central imagery and titular characters.

Chaos comes when new kid J.D. arrives in town with murder on his mind and catches the eye of Veronica Sawyer, a teen misfit recently inducted into the clique.

In 2109, the successful stage show won the title of “Best New Music” at the What’s On Stage Awards, while a review by the New York Post described it as:

“Ingenious, naughty and very funny.”

Heathers The Musical will be live on stage at the Milton Theatre on Sunday, October 6. The theatre can be found at 69 Princes Highway in Milton and tickets are priced between $33.30 and $43 per person.

Doors to the event will open at 6.30 pm and the musical will begin at 7.30 pm.
