Chance to try out electric bicycle

Fans of cycling in the Milton area may be keen to have a chance to try out the freedom of an electric bicycle in September as part of a scheme organised by the council’s Cycling Brisbane initiative.

An electric bicycle encourages riders to ride further and in more hilly terrain than they otherwise would on a regular bike. Cycling Brisbane is an initiative of the council aimed at encouraging more people to get in the saddle. There is a comprehensive network of bike paths for cyclists and bike-related events, as well as a free membership programme with information about training courses, infrastructure and discounts from local businesses. Being a member of Cycling Brisbane also gives citizens a voice to help shape the future of cycling.

Such council initiatives are often brought to the attention of locals by Promotional Products that may be available in administrative buildings around the area.

The Speed Date, an Electric Bike event, takes place on Saturday, 3rd September at 8:30am until 10:30am. The venue is Electric Bikes Brisbane, 26 Milton Steet, Milton. The cost of hiring a bicycle is $10, which is to be paid on arrival. Each participant must already be able to cycle in order to participate and must be over the age of 18. They must also wear appropriate clothing and bring along a helmet to keep them safe. Additional dates are also bookable.
