Australia and England ready to battle for the Ashes

The countdown to the next Ashes series is on, and time is running out for Brisbane-based cricket fans to get tickets for the first test match this week.

The match is the first in the series between England and Australia and will be a crucial win for whichever team succeeds, giving them the psychological advantage at the start of the competition.

Australia will be looking to avenge their Ashes loss in England earlier this year and will be hoping to get off to a good start at the Gabba cricket ground. News reports have suggested that the England team have some injury worries ahead of the match, so it could be a chance for Australia to take an early lead.

Tickets have been selling fast, but there are still a few available even for the first and second days. More tickets are available for later days, but these may become worthless if one team dominates and wins quickly.

Fans from Milton who do manage to score tickets might like to think about banner printing as a way of adding some fun to their day. The best Banners often feature comments about the opposing players, but Queensland fans might like to show support for local bowler Ryan Harris if he is named in the Australian team.

The Brisbane test starts on Thursday. The two teams will be back at the Gabba on Friday January 17 for a one-day match. Tickets for that game are also still available. For more information, visit the Queensland Cricket website.
