A respected institution in Geebung will present a hybrid event about a renowned Australian explorer later this year.
Geebung residents with a passion for the past can participate in an upcoming event held by the Queensland Family History Society. The presentation focuses on the notable Freemason and iconic Australian explorer, Sir Augustus Charles Gregory and allows interested parties to attend in person or online.
Historical societies and other well-established institution often order Letterheads branded with their emblem and motto for official communications with members, sponsors and loyal patrons.
The presentation is led by Doctor Gary Bacon who will recount the life of Gregory, who was interred in Queensland’s Toowong Cemetery, just 22 minutes from Geebung. Delegates unable to physically attend can register the evening before the event to receive a zoom link and follow along online.
The talk will be divided into three key areas looking at Gregory as community leader and state administrator in early Queensland, as an explorer of Australia and as a Freemason patriarch for the state.
The presentation will now take place at the Queensland Family History Society Research Centre in Geebung on Wednesday, March 18. The event will begin at 1 pm and finishes at 3 pm and the venue is sited in the suburb at 46 Delaware Street. This event was originally planned for 2025 but has been rescheduled for this year.
