The event has previously been held in the USA, making this year's games in Brisbane a rare opportunity for fans to take in all the action first hand on home soil.
According to Minister for Sport and Tourism Stirling Hinchliffe, the Nitro World Games are set to see in excess of 60 competitors watched by spectators in the thousands, while also delivering upward of $20 million to the state's tourism economy. He added:
“With big-name Australian Freestyle motocross, BMX trick, skate and scooter athletes taking on the champion skills of some of the world’s best, it’s no surprise Nitro World Games has a global reputation for thrills and spectacle. Nitro is a significant highlight to circle on Brisbane’s 2021 events calendar.”
Major events like the Nitro World Games are often accompanied by marketing activities, such as poster printing campaigns, to ensure the word gets out to as many people as possible.
Tickets have been selling fast for the major event, which Hinchliffe said will also provide a boost for local restaurants, cafes, providers of transport and accommodation and tourism businesses.
Considered to be the next evolution of competitions involving action sports, the games will see top athletes from around the world compete in Scooter, Skateboarding, BMX and Freestyle Motocross competitions on October 23 and 24, 2021.
