Business boomed in the Brisbane suburb of Fortitude Valley, Queensland, during the early 1900s. The fact that the area was easily accessed by tram as early as the 1890s, and that floods forced a number of Brisbane businesses to relocate to the suburb, may also have contributed to its popularity.
