Christmas treats on offer for seniors

Christmas isn’t just for children, as older people from Bellevue can get into the Christmas spirit next month at a special event.

The Centrepoint shopping mall in nearby Midland will be giving its regular Seniors Morning session a festive feel for the last event of the year.

Held in the mall’s main area, the City of Swan’s older residents are given the chance to get together and enjoy a chat over a cup of tea and some cake.

The sessions are also a good time for seniors to find out more about the help and activities available to them in the area, with several community groups setting up stands during the event.

Brochure printers can also help by creating small leaflets for people to take home so the information is close to hand.

For the final event of 2014, the mall has organised live entertainment in the form of country music singer Wayne Pride.

Pride is an Australian artist who released his first single in 1969, and has played with famous names such as Willie Nelson and Don Williams during his long career. The star will entertain with classic country tunes and possibly even a few special Christmas songs.

There will also be a visit from Father Christmas, who will make an appearance and offer some gifts.

The Seniors Morning takes place on Thursday, December 18th between 10am and midday.
