Details announced for medieval fayre in Riverstone area

Residents in Riverstone and the surrounds are invited to attend an upcoming Medieval Fayre. This event is scheduled to come to the area in August.

Organised by Blacktown City Council and supported by Hoyts, this weekend event will take attendees back to the Middle Ages.

Attendees can watch as knights battle it out in combat and jousting competitions. Riders from all across Australia will compete for the top honour. Festival-goers can also enjoy the Feathered Friends bird show, which offers a taste of medieval culture.

Children can play on the inflatable castles or enjoy a pony or camel ride. There will also be archery, axe throwing and a circus tent.

Throughout the weekend, attendees can browse the displays and purchase arts and crafts. There will be a working blacksmith and woodturner, as well as medieval cuisines on offer.

Participants are also encouraged to dress in their medieval gear to participate in the Best Dressed contest.

Organisers of community events can use banner printing to advertise. Banners provide visible promotions, attract interest and draw a crowd.

The Medieval Fayre will be held on Saturday, 30 August and Sunday, 31 August. The venue is Nurragingy Reserve on Knox Road in Doonside. The festival starts at 10:00 AM and finishes at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $10 per person. Children aged three and under can enter free. For more information, those interested can visit the official website.
