Brookvale residents won’t have to travel too far to catch a good show in 2019 with a great line-up of productions set to hit the stage at the Glen Street Theatre.
According to a Glen Street Theatre spokesman, audiences will be in for the ultimate mix of film, drama, dance, musical, comedy and political satire.
There will be something of interest for all ages beginning in February 2019 with the award-winning troupe Girls on Tap, choreographed and created by Sally Dashwood. A psychological drama ‘The Caretaker’ follows from February 28 to March 2.
The powerful and moving dance theatre show ‘RED’ by Liz Lea will also be presented in March followed by playwright Hannie Rayson’s ‘Hello, Beautiful!
Jonathan Biggins, who both starred in and co-created The Wharf Revue, is set to perform in his own self-written one-man comedy show ‘The Gospel According to Paul’ followed three days later by Jim Cartwright’s masterful comedy ‘TWO’ which will feature former A Country Practice actor Kate Raison and husband Brian Meegan.
The second half of the 2019 entertainment programme at the Glen Street Theatre will kick off on July 23 with Cyril Gely’s ‘Diplomacy’ starring renowned theatre legends John Gaden and John Bell.
The theatre’s Kidsplay Season will also provide a series of fascinating productions including Possum Magic, the Robot Song, Picasso and his Dog, and Revolting Rhymes & Dirty Beasts by Roald Dahl. Poster printing is often used by organisers to promote shows like these.
