Gold Coast sounds bound for Brookvale

A Brookvale brewhouse is set to welcome a live band known for playing electronica infused with world music.

Fans of beer and music in Brookvale can enjoy this upcoming show at a local brewery and taphouse. The innovative electronic outfit Tijuana Cartel will arrive in the suburb in autumn to perform tracks from their latest release, titled “Bumblebee”.

Recording artists and their labels sometimes collaborate with Graphic Design Services that can combine artwork, typography and important information to create covers for their studio albums.

Founded in the Gold Coast in 2003, Tijuana Cartel mixes hypnotic electronica with Middle Eastern grooves, flamenco guitar and strong trumpets to fashion genre-defying music that is uniquely their own. Today, the band are based in Byron Bay and led by keyboardist and producer Carey O’ Sullivan and guitar player Paul George, who are joined by trumpetist Tristan Rogers and Sheila Finke on percussion.

For years, Tijuana Cartel has proved popular at festivals across Australia and overseas, and has amassed a loyal following who appreciate their original sound. Describing their shows, The Sydney Morning Herald named them one of Australia’s most fearsome live bands.

Tijuana Cartel will now play live on stage at the Freshwater Brewing Company on Friday, May 15. The independent brewery and tap house is easy to find at 4 Powells Road in Brookvale and the show starts at 7 pm.
