Northern Beaches Council was pleased to announce the recent launch of the newly revamped Lionel Watts Reserve in Frenchs Forest, which officially opened in late July.
The facility is the home ground for local teams of the Wakehurst Tigers Football Club and the Forest Lions Junior AFL Club.
The $3.4 million upgrade involved installing synthetic sports fields to create two senior and one junior football fields, and one senior and two junior AFL fields with permanent markings. The facility also caters for netball, cricket, futsal and softball competitions. The synthetic grounds will make the facility usable year-round, without the previous interruptions due to poor weather conditions.
While not as large or well-equipped as the nearby Brookvale Oval, home to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles rugby league team, local fans and players are nonetheless thrilled with the upgrade. Wakehurst Tigers president, Greg Dick, praised the council for the upgrade, stating that locals now have a first-class sporting facility to go.
Parents and supporters of the Tigers will now be seen on the sidelines cheering the players on in their distinctive orange and black uniforms. As well as the sponsored uniforms worn by players, a range of Promotional Products are available for fans to show their support to the Tigers and keep warm in the chill winter air. A range of hats, jumpers and shirts are available with the Wakehurst Tigers’ recognisable orange logo printed or embroidered onto its black background.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
