Hotel site earmarked for chic new apartment and retail development

A period of change is on the way in Brookvale, New South Wales’ light industrial areas, where a new chic apartment block has received approval.

The car park of the Brookvale Hotel has been put on the market complete with approval for a five-level building with cafes, shops, six loft-style small offices and 73 units.

Located on the corner of Old Pittwater Road and Roger Street, the 3,456 square metre site represents the largest single block of land in the vicinity on which to host the development called Brookvale Apartments.

Brochure printers have already put together glossy presentations of the approved development.

The selling price is expected to be around $13 million, according to JLL Commercial’s Sam Brewer.

He said in addition to water views from many of the units, Brookvale Apartments would also offer a retail concept with a food market and restaurants.

Underground parking will be available at the site’s northern end.

Expressions of interest for the sale close mid-July.

Roger Street has proven popular recently for new units with another 18 large apartments being constructed as part of the Venus development.

Due for completion in 2016, the units are expected to sell from $850,000, according to Novak Agency’s Mark Novak.

He said access and convenience were key to the development’s many sales points, and these were key factors people were prepared to pay for to secure.
