A local event that has been on a hiatus since 2018 is set to make its return, and it will provide a sneak peek into some of the city's historic properties.
The Tour of Homes will add some extra fun to this month, and this will be the 35th year that it has taken place. Seven homes in Wauwatosa’s Olde Hillcrest neighborhood will be on the list of venues to visit, and a special exhibit and silent auction are also in the works.
At each of the stops, the public will be able to meet docents who are knowledgeable about the site. They will be able to share the history of the home and answer questions. At the Kneeland-Walker House, attendees will find a pop-up shop as well as an exhibit to explore. They will also be able to stroll through the venue's grounds and gardens.
The planned silent auction and raffle draw will be new for this year. Baskets filled with Corporate Gifts and other prizes will be drawn for, and everyone can place their bids on the auction items.
Tickets for this day of learning about Wauwatosa’s historic side, which will be running from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, are still available at the time of writing. Details about the activity and the booklet pick-up locations can be found on the Wauwatosa Historical Society’s website.
