Wauwatosa to show love to exotic companion animals

Just like cats and dogs, exotic pets need love too, and a Wauwatosa area rescue event will help them find new forever homes.

J & R Aquatic Animal Rescue explained that it recognizes that even though someone may love their fish, reptile, bird or other unusual pet, they may not be able to care for it any longer. People in this position are invited to take advantage of the Habitattitude Exotic Pet Surrender Event. There will be no questions asked, and along with making sure these animal companions, corals, and plants find a new home, it will help to prevent them from being released into the environment.

During the function, which will run throughout the afternoon, an assortment of rescue groups will be accepting animals and plants, and support for the activity is being provided by a variety of community partners. Reservations are not required, and space at the Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Northwest Conference Center has been booked for the occasion.

The organizers of the surrender noted that they would like to thank the Festival Foods Paw Away Hunger Program for its decision to sponsor the activity.
