An area retailer is putting in a big push to help make sure that the shelves of the Tosa Community Food Pantry are well stocked to meet the needs of Wauwatosa residents and the rest of the surrounding community.
Meijer, as part of its efforts, will be selling donations cards. They cost $10 each, and will be used to supply the food bank with gift cards that will be distributed to those in need so they can purchase food for their families. Stationery printers can design and produce the donation cards that are purchased by the public. They can be designed in such a way as to thank the donor and encourage others to give.
The campaign runs until January 2, and the Simply Give double match days fell on November 13 and 14. On those days, each $10 donation card that was purchased was matched by a $20 donation by Meijer. This meant that the charity received a total donation of $30.
Meijer plans on making the first set of contributions before the holidays so that families in need will be able to have food on their tables.
