By breathing new life into old household objects, upcycling can create brand new decor while at the same time helping to divert materials from ending up in landfills. A Wauwatosa area shop has taken this to heart, and will be hosting a sale that will feature a variety of items that will turn old into new.
The event will bring together the works of a curated group of artisans that specialize upcycling and repurposing older items. The entry price for the day is $5, and this entitles the holder to receive a 10% discount that can be redeemed at Antiques on Pierce.
The focus of the exhibition will be lighting, home decor, furniture, and jewelry, and the public will be able to view the pieces, speak to some of the creators and maybe even be inspired to start upcycling on their own. There will be food and other refreshments available for purchase so that, when it is time for a break from the browsing, the shoppers can relax over a cup of coffee or other snack.
Along with the showcase of upcycled pieces, Antiques on Pierce also offers space for 150 dealers, and this is spread out over three floors. Signage can make it easy for customers to find just what they are looking for when shopping, and local printing services providers can provide them.
This opportunity for the public to see how upcycling can be both a practical and creative choice will be open on February 16. The Antiques on Pierce website is the place to go to find out more.
