Wauwatosa area gardeners to hit the ground running

After a long winter, Wauwatosa gardeners will be invited to take advantage of a learning opportunity that may be helpful to them.

The Spring Garden Prep workshop will be kicking off the spring horticultural calendar. The facilitator will be Nick Ternes, who will be sharing his many years of experience in the horticultural trade.

The activity will cover a variety of garden-related topics, starting with getting garden beds ready for seeding, planting, or the addition of shrubs, trees, or perennials. Pest and weed control will be discussed, and choosing and applying an appropriate fertilizer is on the agenda as well. The tips shared may be helpful for many types of plants, including vegetables, and everyone can ask questions. Admissions starts at $10.00, and there is room for up to 25 attendees.

A workshop or other activity that shares a lot of information with a group may benefit from the services of Stationery printers. They can provide Copies of handouts and other learning materials so that those who take part can keep on making discoveries long after the event comes to an end.

The Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens will be offering this workshop planned for the home gardener on Friday, April 12. It will be an in-person event taking place at 9400 Boerner Drive in Hales Corners.
