Free assistance available to Wauwatosa homeowners

Wauwatosa is offering families that have a low to moderate income an opportunity to access free home repair services to help fix critical issues with their housing.

The program, which is made available through a partnership with Community First, will provide essential repairs to areas such as roofing, the electrical system, plumbing and HVAC in homes that need them. Community First, is an organization dedicated to ensuring that all people in Milwaukee and its neighborhoods have safe and affordable housing. It also provides other support services, including training in home maintenance and financial literacy for homeowners.

In order to qualify, the applicant tin question needs to have owned their home for five or more years. They must also reside in the dwelling, which needs to be either a duplex or single-family residence. They are required to have homeowner’s insurance, and not be currently in bankruptcy. As well, they will have to meet the income guidelines that have been set for the program.

Those who wish to apply for the free assistance must do so by April 14th. A printer can supply applications and other business Forms that can help to keep projects such as this running smoothly.
