The hotel in question had been in receivership. However, the new owner seems confident that the hotel will do well and postcard printing in Wauwatosa could be used for promotional purposes. Rob Gerbitz, the chief executive of HCP, has told the Milwaukee Business Journal:
“It’s always been a nice hotel, but ultimately just under-managed. There is going to be some improvements to the management structure.”
The Delafield Hotel is located in South Genesee Street. The building contains almost 40 rooms, a restaurant bar and several meeting spaces.
The idea is that the existing employees will retain their positions. However, HCP has concrete plans to turn the financial situation of the business around.
In practice, this means that the marketing of the hotel will be upgraded. It has been revealed by Mr. Gerbitz that the promotional activity will in part concentrate on showcasing the meeting rooms. In addition, the boutique theme will continue to be emphasized to potential guests.
The receiver of the hotel was an attorney called Michael Polsky. For the deal to go ahead, discussions had to be held between HCP, the Ixonia Bank and the hotel receiver. The receiver was appointed back in February after a previous owner of the property went to court.
