Residents in Wisconsin who are looking to improve their lumber skills are looking forward to the 35th Annual Woodworking Show and Sale later this month.
Organized by the Northeastern Wisconsin Woodworkers Guild, the event features learning, demos, sales, and more.
First and foremost, promotional Flyers bill the event as a chance for visitors to learn more about all the facets of woodworking. Experts will give live demos on their techniques while giving tips on how they can be applied at a range of experience levels. Skills on display include lathe turning, woodburning, scroll sawing, hand carving, and intarsia (wood inlaying).
Additionally, hundreds of items all carved by guild members will be on display at the show, many of them for sale. Visitors, some of whom will no doubt by Green Bay locals, can also pick up some used, high-quality tools and plans for new project ideas.
A raffle will also be held as part of the event. The proceeds from this cover the cost of the show, as well as providing much of the funds the guild uses throughout the year. As such there are a large number of varied prizes available. Prizes include new tools and accessories, select lumber, and over 40 handcrafted items from guild members.
The Woodworking Show and Sale will be held on March 18 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, and March 19 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at Southwest High School, located at 1331 Packerland Dr. Admission and parking for the event is free to the public, and the website offers more details.
