Upcoming art exhibit to honor athletes

The Art Garage in Green Bay will host “The Athletes Exhibition” to recognize athletes and their efforts. The exhibit will feature athletes, along with the different accessories they use or compete for.

Participants can expect to see sports equipment, trophies, and other objects worn by athletes. From these exhibition items, organizers say they hope participants can understand the “blood, sweat, and tears characterized on the playing field.” Entrants can choose to view the exhibit in-person or online.

A side gallery will also be available for viewing, which will include art submissions from local artists, all of which follow the theme of the “energy and rhythm of sports.” Any artists interested in submitting their work must do so by January 21. Printing services can be utilized to produce Copies for submission. Artists submitting their work will need to pay a fee of $25 for each item; this fee is lowered to $20 for student submissions.

The exhibit will start on February 4 and will last until March 28. Once open, the exhibit will be available all days of the week except Saturday. For specific opening and closing times, entrants can check the Art Garage’s website. Admission to the event will be free.
