Partnership created to improve Northeast Wisconsin healthcare

ThedaCare and Bellin Health are forming a partnership that aims to increase the availability of cardiovascular care in the region.

The beneficiaries of this partnership are patients in the Northeast of Wisconsin, including Fox Valley and Green Bay. The partnership between the two healthcare providers expects that it will be able to care for more than one million people. James Rider is the lead physician on the Bellin-ThedaCare Cardiovascular Collaborative and he stated:

“For delivering of care, we have more providers at Bellin right now, as we grow the ThedaCare campus, so we’re providing much more care here but, as far as the program, supporting each other and learning from each other, it's purely collaborative.”

Patients are likely to see poster printing for the collaboration in the offices of participating doctors. Fox11 News reports that 15 doctors were asked to vacate their offices at Appleton’s ThedaCare several months ago because they were unable to come to an agreement when working with ThedaCare. The doctors decided that they would prefer to work independently, despite months of negotiations. The group of doctors left and created their own practice which is called the Heart and Vascular Institute of Wisconsin in Grand Chute.

ThedaCare is hoping that its partnership with Bellin will help it find quality replacements for the doctors that left. In total, the team will comprise more than 50 cardiologists and serve 17 counties at 20 different locations.
