Mathu got his award at the American Red Cross for the Green Bay Packers Give Back Community Blood Drive held at Lambeau Field’s Johnson Tailgate Village. The organizers thanked him for being their 100,00th donor of the day by giving him a Red Cross bag, as well as a $100 gift card that can be redeemed at the Packers Pro Shop. Promotional Products such as gift cards are often used to encourage participation in charity events.
The statement from the Green Packers CEO and president, Mark Murphy, said:
“We are proud to join the Red Cross in celebrating this special 10,000-pint milestone. We are thankful to the donors for their consistent giving even during the pandemic, and to the support of the Red Cross staff and our fans.”
Murphy also stated that he is looking forward to organizing more blood drives because it is important that the supply meets the demand.
Mathu perhaps earned his good fortune, because he has been donating blood to the Red Cross regularly for the last 20 years. On average, he has given blood every 56 days and an approximate total of 20 gallons.
