Weaving is an art that combines form and function, and a Green Bay workshop will bring this ancient craft into the 21st century.
Those who register for the Inkle Loom Weaving for Beginners session will learn how to use a loom to prepare a handmade craft project. All of the materials needed for the activity are included in the registration fee, and when they leave for home, they will be able to take their completed piece home with them.
The participants will learn about various types of looms and how they are used, and pattern planning is on the slate for discussion as well. Following this, the attendees will be taught how to warp their piece before they begin to weave, and the facilitator for the session will be Andy Leisk, who has more than 30 years of weaving experience, as well as being a member of Wisconsin Handweavers Inc..
A maker-led workshop often combines learning with hands-on interaction, and it also offers the opportunity to socialize while crafting. Organizations that host these activities often order Letterheads and other items from area printing services providers.
This chance to experience weaving using a simple loom will begin at 9:00am on February 3. Tickets start at $40.00, and the location for the workshop can be found at Heritage Hill State Park.Get a Free Quote for Letterheads
