Heritage Hill State Park will be opening again soon to host its luminary walk. The park is located in Green Bay, and the event will allow residents to dive into local history.
The park was created to preserve and host historical buildings in Green Bay. The aim was to preserve aspects of Green Bay's local history, and after a grant in 1965, the project gradually developed into its current form. Today, the site holds 56 acres of historical buildings that represent Wisconsin’s history between 1672 and 1940.
For the event, entrants can expect a slow-paced stroll through the park’s winter trail. Throughout the trip, there will be short stops at several of the historical buildings, including Moravian Church, Fort School House, Blacksmith Shop, and Fur Trader Cabin and Farmhouse. Other services will also be offered through the tour, which will include a bonfire, hot toddies, and s’mores.
The walk will take place on January 8 and 9 between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM on both evenings. To ensure the safety of participants, event organizers will require everyone to wear a face covering and follow social distancing measures. The park also offers other events and services, and Business Cards will be available for future contact. Tickets can be purchased online or at the event, and all proceeds will go towards fundraising for the park.
