Green Bay planning Souper culinary competition

A hot bowl of soup can be a great antidote to the chilly days of October, and some of the Green Bay area’s “souper chefs” will be sharing their favorite recipes with the world.

The De Pere Soup Walk is right around the corner, and it will open the fall season in a fun and tasty way. A wide selection of eateries will be taking part, and each one that does will offer a soup and beverage pairing.

The activity, which will be a friendly competition between the chefs, will see the participants vie for both The Golden Ladle and also bragging rights. Participants will be asked to vote for their favorite entry, and the function may be enjoyed by both locals and visitors alike. Only 300 tickets will be sold, and they are priced at $20 each.

While the competition may be intended to be fun, it also has an important purpose. It will take aim at hunger in the community by serving as a food drive, and contributions can be dropped off at one of the collection stations that will be set up. A brochure printing company can prepare materials to hand out to those who support an activity, showing how their generosity is making a difference.

The 2023 De Pere Soup Walk will crown the winner of this year’s Golden Ladle on October 7. It will run from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, and the Green Bay website provides more details.
