Green Bay gets back to business

Businesses in cities such as Green Bay are happy to be reopening, although they will have to adjust to the new normal.

Salons, for example, have some new regulations that must be followed. Barriers have been erected between the shampoo bottles and the hairdressers are wiping everything down immediately after use. Face masks are available for the customers who need them, and some businesses have been known to use these as Promotional Products.

After reopening, some businesses have fared better than others, according to Wbay.com. The phones at Shear Chaos in Appleton are always ringing, and while Christina Brown from Hoot and Co. notes that her sales are down when compared to this time last year, she is making up the deficit thanks to online shoppers who are responding well to the option for curbside pickups.

When speaking about how long it will take for businesses to fully recover, Jayme Sellen from the Fox Cities Chambers’ Economic Development group said:

“A survey came out that said it’s gonna take, the majority of these respondents said, that it was going to take 10 months or longer to fully recover. It’s not easy to get back up and running and it’s not easy to own a small business.”

Sellen also pointed out that patience is needed. The store owners feel that their clients and their communities saved them, and the support and generosity they have received are a vital part of keeping their businesses open.
