Residents in the Green Bay area are gearing up for Artstreet in downtown. The event is a showcase of local arts and crafts while also providing a full weekend of entertainment for both young and old alike.
At its core, Artstreet is about the art, and this year over 200 different local artists and crafters will be there to showcase their work. The artists work in a variety of media, including paint, ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, and metalworking. Additionally many of the crafters will provide demonstrations of how they create their art at one of the many booths and stages set up along the street. A question-and-answer session will follow most of the demonstrations.
The weekend will also be full of many different types of entertainment. Performance art including music, one-act plays, and dance will take place on the stages while street performers take up along the street. A food area will be set up with both food vendors as well as information of many of the nonprofits in the region. Areas will also be set up for children and young artists. Brochures with a full list of all the activities can be picked up at the information center.
Artstreet will take place on August 26, 27, and 28 along 130 E. Walnut St. in downtown Green Bay. Attendance is free to the public, though donations are welcome. Anyone interested in more information about artists and events can visit the website.
