Green Bay becomes home to new outdoor retail concept

Green Bay will soon be the host of a Gander Outdoors store.

The store, which was formerly known as Gander Mountain, was purchased by Marcus Lemonis, who is reopening many of the chain’s stores. The store focuses on gear for hunting, water and marine sports, fishing, and other outdoor activities at affordable prices.

Lemonis said that he wanted to bring the store back to Green Bay as it is a community interested in outdoor recreation, and the store had the capabilities to serve the outdoor enthusiast. The store is scheduled to be open sometime between mid-April and early May.

In addition to Green Bay and another store opening in Appleton, Lemonis said that he is looking for more locations for the chain and will announce these soon, with the intention of opening up to 70 new stores.

The size of the store will be between 28,000 and 46,000 square feet and include retail space for outdoor Apparel, as well as spaces for services and supplies. More than 120 jobs will need to be filled as a result of the store opening in the community.

Flyers are often used to attract large numbers of people to official ribbon cutting ceremonies and grand opening events for stores such as this one, while also promoting any special offers that might be made available at the time.
