Environmental exhibit to finish run in September

Green Bay folks still have well over a month to see “Washed Ashore,” an ocean-themed exhibit. Headed by Angela Haseltine Pozzi, the exhibit features animal sculptures created from plastic waste.

Washed Ashore has been running for several years now, having been featured across different locations in North America. Some places that have hosted the sculptures include the Smithsonian National Museum, the Toronto Zoo, and the Epcot Center. With this current exhibit, Washed Ashore is being held in Wisconsin for the first time.

Hoping to inspire change, Pozzi created the exhibit to draw attention to the effects of plastic on the environment. All the sculptures are of marine animals like penguins, sharks, and jellyfish. Altogether, there will be eight sculptures at the exhibit, each with Signs that detail the animal and its environment. Events like these usually utilize brochure printing to provide additional information on the exhibit.

Washed Ashore will run until September 26. It is currently being held at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, located at 2600 Larsen Road. The exhibit will remain open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm throughout August, with slightly shorter viewing times of 9:00 am to 6:30 pm during September. Admission tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children between 5 and 17. For more details on ticketing, the event website has additional information.
