Chippewa Valley will hold a Young Writers Read Showcase next month in Eau Claire. The event will recognize upcoming young writers in the region.
The showcase is part of the region’s larger Chippewa Valley Book Festival, a six-day affair that happens each year. The festival gives readers and writers a chance to showcase their stories while also enjoying the work of others. Business Cards can also be used to help facilitate potential new partnerships while at such festivals.
For the Read Showcase, any child between grades three and eight can register by printing a submission form online. Organizers will accept all kinds of works, as long as they are originally written, including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.
All submissions must be done by September 25. Writers who are chosen will be awarded a gift certificate plus the opportunity to read their work at the showcase. The gift certificate can be used to purchase any book at Dotter Books.
The Read Showcase will happen on Sunday, October 24 between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. It will take place at the Grand Theatre located at 102 West Grand Avenue. Anyone interested in the entire Book Festival can find it at the Pablo Center at the Confluence. It will happen between October 24 and Friday, October 29, and entry to the festival is free.
