A terrarium or dish garden provides a way to bring a piece of nature indoors, and an Eau Claire activity will soon be constructing these plantings.
Verdant Curiosities will be providing an opportunity to get the inside scoop on constructing a terrarium that will be a mini ecosystem designed to thrive for a long time to come. Those interested are encouraged to bring their partner, spouse, or friend, as there will be a special offer available for teams of two.
Participants will use the materials and plants provided to construct their terrarium. Those who attend on their own will craft a medium sized garden, while the “dynamic duos” will prepare a larger one. All materials – including the plants, container, soil and decorative elements – are included in the ticket price, and the species selected will be chosen because they tend to do well together. To help the organizers plan for the session, advance registration is required, and the ticket price will depend on the size of the terrarium selected.
A class like this provides those who are new to home horticulture with a chance to get their feet wet and gain some expert advice. Stationery printers will be pleased to prepare tip sheets to distribute so that learners will be able to help their new green friends thrive in their home.
Verdant Gardens will be hosting this terrarium workshop on Saturday, January 24. Tickets start at $44.
