RENT, a musical that has won a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize, will arrive in Eau Claire in November. The production is celebrating its 25th anniversary since the show’s debut.
Created by Jonathan Larson, the musical tells the story of artists trying to chase their dreams. Adapted from “La Boheme,” an Italian opera, RENT made its debut on Broadway in 1996. The musical was an instant success, and a quarter of a century on, this production acts as a farewell tour for the musical. This upcoming show could therefore be one of the last chances to catch RENT performed live.
The musical will play at the RCU Theatre in the Pablo Center at the Confluence, where COVID-19 precautions will be in place. Guests are expected to wear masks while inside the venue. Also, all entrants are required to have proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 results.
The venue also hosts other shows and performances throughout the year. Such events are often promoted with the help of poster printing, which locals can keep an out for if they are interested.
RENT will come to Eau Claire on November 22 and will begin at 7:30 PM. Tickets for the show range from $55 to $125, depending on where the seat is located. Guests can find the Pablo Center at 128 Graham Avenue.
