Eight local nonprofit organizations and charities in Wisconsin’s Chippewa Valley, including cities like Eau Claire, have formed an umbrella organization to tackle the consequences of COVID-19 related shutdowns.
The new group, titled Together Chippewa Valley, comprises the Chippewa Valley Museum, the Eau Claire County Humane Association, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley, the Pablo Center at the Confluence, , The Children’s Museum of Eau Claire, the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, the Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, and the Family Resource Center. The goal is to fill the gap caused by the facility closures, program cancellations and added expenses that nonprofit groups have had to go through to maintain physical distancing.
In its promotional information, Together Chippewa Valley boasts of representing over 240 employees and 150, 000 people served annually. They are asking for donations to help local charities and institutions maintain their locations and capabilities. Fundraising drives like these often involve tools like brochure printing and Promotional Products, which can still be useful in times of social distancing, as well as social media campaigns. These outreach efforts could include the organization’s powerful mission statement:
“Together Chippewa Valley will work as one so that these nonprofits can survive this crisis. Together, we can bring arts and social play back to our communities. Together, we can care for and nurture animals and children. Together, we can inspire all people to stay healthy and active. Together, with the help of our supporters, our non-profits will remain active in our communities.”
The formation of Together Chippewa Valley was announced via press release on April 2, and began accepting donations the following day.
