Local fundraiser goes into final few weeks

Bowl For Kids’ Sake (BFKS) will finish up around the end of April.

BFKS is a fundraiser where teams gather to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Wisconsin, an organization that provides mentoring opportunities for children. Towards the end of the event, everyone will come together and bowl at a socially distanced party in Eau Claire.

For each team, one person must register as team captain, who will then send registration links to their teammates, and they can start fundraising. For this year’s event, the theme is “Sports Nation.” Organizers have intentionally left the theme vague, so teams can interpret the theme however they want, but they are encouraged to incorporate it when fundraising and bowling.

This year’s event also includes an online fundraising component. The virtual fundraiser allows individuals and teams to build donations from their homes through a series of challenges. Anyone who participates in the online event will not be eligible for the bowling outing at the end.

Regardless of which option entrants choose, organizers will give out Corporate Gifts and other prizes to teams with the most donations. More details can be found on the event’s webpage.

Bowling dates for the fundraiser are set for April 29 and 30, and May 6 and 7. The online fundraiser comes later, starting on May 17 and ending on May 21.
