Eau Claire university to hold virtual run

  • 2021-02-06
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will hold a virtual run titled the “Shamrock Shuffle” next month.

The event is themed around St. Patrick’s Day, and anyone within the Eau Claire area is welcome to join.

Participants can pick their course and take the run anytime during the event. Organizers also allow runners to walk their course if they are seeking a slower-paced activity. As long as participants finish a five-kilometer course, they will be deemed to have completed the run.

For this year’s race, the University will not be giving a T-shirt when runners register. Instead, it has organized a draw where entrants will have a chance to win Scheels Gift Cards. The number of cards included in the draw will depend on the number of participants for the race. Also, if the event reaches 100 entrants, $50 gift cards will be given out instead of $25 ones.

The run will take place between March 13 and 20. Those interested can register at the university’s website, and entry for the run is $15. Once runners have registered, they will receive a race bib, which can be printed at a Print shop. Organizers also encourage participants to take photos of their run and send them to the university’s social media pages.

Anyone with questions can call the organizers at 715-836-3377 or send an email to recreation@uwec.edu.
