The holiday celebrations kick off in Seattle this month

Winterfest is returning to Seattle this month and will be taking place until the last day of the year. It is part of the city’s Holidays in Seattle series.

There will be lots of activities taking place over the five weeks that will appear to people of all ages. One of the most popular activities will likely be the ice rink which comes with a fee; although there will be one free day of skating. The Winter Train will offer rides and the village will show what life was like at Christmas-time at the turn of the century.

A student showcase is set to feature over 100 performances from various city schools and youth organizations. There will also be other entertainment from groups such as the Dickens Carolers, the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band and the 3rd Shift Dancers. Saturdays will feature ice sculpting and there will be fireworks on New Year's Eve. December 17 will feature a happy hour for adults that will have specialty cocktails, a DJ and games like Giant Scrabble and Jenga.

It is likely that a Seattle poster printing firm will be asked to provide advertising for this popular annual event.

Winterfest will be held at the Seattle Center from November 25 to December 31. Admission is free of charge although some activities have a fee. Call 206-684-7200 for more information.
