Seattle residents will once again be offered a chance to get together with their friends and family to decorate freshly baked cookies, all in support of the local food bank.
This will be the 10th year for the Geraldine’s Counter decorating party, and it will feature freshly baked cookies supplied by local bakeries. Each person who comes out will be able to enjoy a hearty meal of macaroni and cheese, and also lots of cookies for them to decorate as they wish and then take home with them. While they work, they can have a glass of wine or other beverage and purchase a ticket for the raffle.
In an effort to make sure that all members of a group will be able to sit together, the organizers are selling the tickets as both singles and also for larger groups. The cost will depend on how many are purchased, and it was noted by the organizers that, thanks to the generosity of the event’s sponsors, all of the funds raised will go to the food bank. People are also strongly encouraged to make a monetary donation, and they can also drop off non-perishables right at the Rainier Valley Food Bank itself. Flyers that promote an event like this to the local community can be supplied by an area printer.
The cookie decorating part will be held on November 6 at 4872 Rainier Avenue S. More details can be found on the food bank’s Facebook page.
