Brought up in Florida, Jordan has been influenced by the cooking of his family. After college, he learned how to be a professional cook at culinary school. However, he never stopped appreciating the example set by his relatives.
Jordan told KUOW News:
“My grandmother always had open doors, and she fed anyone that was hungry.
“We had pop-up dinners that she made a little money for the church. She basically sold dinners from our house. And that was our form of entertainment, our form of hospitality.”
Jordan managed to get an internship with the French Laundry, which allowed him to perfect his skills. He has worked New York, Seattle, and Europe. JuneBaby serves its customers with Southern cuisine, including fried chicken, cake and chitterlings. Promotional Drinkware is often used in the restaurant trade, particularly among eateries that are making a name for themselves.
Jordan has allowed the city of Seattle to influence his dishes too. As an example, customers may choose to eat regional specialties like foraged mushrooms.
By establishing himself in culinary terms, Jordan avoided being stereotyped as a Southern cook. At the same time, he remains proud of his origins, and has underlined the importance of his type of authentic cooking by reminding people of its historical relevance.
