What's Happening in Seattle, WA…

Seattle session to help public become water savvy

There are many ways the public can engage in simple environmental stewardship, and a Seattle workshop will introduce one to local property owners.

The free “How to Get RainWise” workshop will explore a grassroots level way of protecting the environment that can be used by many local homeowners, and is on offer at no charge. It will include a meet and greet with local contractors who install these devices, and will supply an introduction to the RainWise program.

During the session, the attendees will learn how rain gardens and barrels help to keep contamination from entering waterways through storm sewers, and they will also be offered tips for taking advantage of rebate programs that may help to cover the cost of installing a rain catchment device on their property. It will be an in-person activity, and time for questions has been built into its schedule. Its location will be released at a later date.

Many people would like to become more environmentally friendly, and a class or other learning session can help them to get started. A brochure printing company can be contacted to craft handouts and other learning materials for an event.

This chance for Seattle households to become more savvy when it comes to conserving water will be held on Monday, February 27. It is set to begin at 6:00 pm.
