The Wing Luke Museum in Seattle has been hosting a special exhibit by cartoonist Vishavjit Singh since May last year, but time is running out for locals who have yet to see it.
Wham! Bam! Pow! is the exhibit currently visiting the Wing Luke Museum. The exhibit focuses on Singh’s art, which he uses to confront intolerance and hatred. Using his art and sense of humor, Singh explores the history of this country, as well as the contradictory values still present. His aim is to change certain preconceived notions, particularly regarding those of Middle Eastern and South Asian heritage.
General admission tickets give visitors access to not only the regular museum, but also any and all special exhibits, including this one. GA tickets also include a tour of a historic hotel that is accessible only with the guided tours. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Parking is available around the museum. Street spots are free on Sundays and holidays, and are otherwise metered. There are also a number of parking structures within five blocks of the museum.
Often, museums and other spaces with special exhibits like this will use flyer printing to spread the word and help advertise. The exhibit may be busy as it prepares to leave, so guests should plan in advance for this. This exhibit is set to close after Sunday, February 24.
