What's Happening in Seattle, WA…

Seattle offers chance to try teas from around the world

The 9th annual Northwest Tea Festival is taking place for two days next month in Seattle.

Guests will have the opportunity to take part in tea tasting sessions, listen to talks from several authors and industry experts, and attend workshops about the ‘6 Types of True Tea’, the etiquette of tea, and the oolong tea process; each of these costs $10. There will also be a free Wu-wo tea ceremony and a home tea blending workshop that will cost $25.

In addition, vendors will include a variety of local tea manufacturers and an artist who creates items such as tea cozies. Representatives of the International Tea Sipper’s Society will also be on hand to provide information about the organization.

All ticketholders will receive a porcelain tasting cup so they can participate in the tea tasting sessions or sample beverages from vendors.

Tea is becoming as popular as coffee is in Seattle and no doubt this event will attract plenty of residents. Many of the vendors may be handing out promotional products such as custom pens and fridge magnets to those who stop by their booth.

The Northwest Tea Festival will be held at the Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion from October 1 to 2. Tickets are $10 per day or $15 for both days, and children aged 12 and under are admitted for free. For updated information, visit the event website.
