Growing food at home can be fun, tasty, and budget friendly, and those who take advantage of a Seattle activity will be able to get a jump start on the growing season.
Tilth Alliance has scheduled its annual May Edible Plant Sale, which is its largest fundraiser for 2023. The plants on offer will be organically grown in the local area, and the species and cultivars available will have been chosen because they have proven to flourish in local conditions.
Shoppers at the market will be able to purchase healthy starts and along with the veggies, edible flowers, herbs, pollinator plants, and even supplies for gardening will be on offer. It will be hosted in person, and early bird tickets may be purchased. To help keep the function organized, entry will be staggered, and everyone will receive a wristband.
Along with the plants, the function will have food available for purchase, and informative presentations are on the agenda. The attendees can learn about composting, container gardening, and encouraging beneficial insects. Handouts for such an activity can be crafted by local Stationery printers.
This opportunity to support a Seattle environmental initiative will be welcoming shoppers on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7. It will take place at Meridian Playground, and additional information is available on the Tilth Alliance website.
