Seattle glass festival shines on in 2020
Seattle is the hub of the United States’ glass art scene, and a fall festival will showcase some of the best local glass artists and their stunning creations.
Refract, The Seattle Glass Experience is a four-day event that takes visitors through the entire experience and process of creating and making glass art.
This year’s festival has a distinct October character, with a glass pumpkin patch and a workshop where visitors can create their jack-o-lanterns, ghosts and pumpkins. There will also be glass blowing demonstrations and an LGBTQ+ glass art display.
The festival does not take place at any one venue, but instead is a cluster of events that happen in various glass art studios around Seattle.
The opening night takes place at Chihuly Garden and Glass, a mesmerizing display of glass art in a building itself made of glass.
The second day of the event will feature a glass-art jam session, where some of the top glass artists will create amazing pieces of glass-art on the fly, while spectators can enjoy live music, food, and drink.
The 42nd Annual Auction and Gala is one of the most important fundraisers of the year for the Pilchuck Glass School. Plus, many glass art studios will be open to the public or will have their own events.
