Seattle Capitol Hill poster contest open to all

In a creative bid to promote small businesses in the Capitol Hill region, the Greater Seattle Business Association is holding a poster competition.

The contest is open to anyone, and is designed to promote the GSBA's annual campaign called “Shop Small, Shop the Hill” - in conjunction with the U.S. Small Business Administration's Small Business Saturday, which falls every year on the last Saturday of November.

The winning poster must display the “Shop Small, Shop the Hill” phrase and will be printed and placed in storefront windows in hundreds of shops, stores and restaurants in the Capitol Hill region.

As the largest LGBTQ and allied chamber of commerce in North America, the Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA) represents more than 1,300 small businesses, non-profits and corporations. Since it began in 1981 it has promoted diversity and equality at work as one of its core missions.

Print shops can be useful in contests such as these, as professional poster printing is required for the winning design(s).

Artists and creatives must submit their designs before 11:59 p.m. on November 10. The selection team will announce the winner on November 13.

Besides having his/her poster up in a variety of locations, the winner will also recieve an annual membership for the GSBA membership, tickets to the GSBA Holiday Luncheon on December 11, a small web ad on the GSBA website, and a profile in the organization's weekly newsletter.
